I’ve always thought the scores Steve Jablonsky did for the Transformers franchise were way too good for such crappy movies.

Tron: Legacy*
*I don’t actually think this movie is in any way terrible, but I get that there could be people who do. They’re wrong, but I will allow them to think that. For now...

Daft punk in general is awesome.

Agreed. But that soundtrack tho. Aww Yisss.

Oh yeah dude. I love the OT and VII, but the prequels were definitely the best example of crap movie/awesome music. “Duel of Fates” alone wins it.

Transformers was great if you enjoy it for what it is. One of my fav movies actually. But yes the score is awesome.

Star Trek: First Contact. The movie is meh (Alice Krige is the Borg Queen) but the score, especially during the opening titles, is very well done.

I liked garden state... *defiantly puts flame suit away*

This movie looks and sounds incredible. But it’s somewhat... Empty.
Sometimes before I go to bed I listen to Adagio. That track is just incredible. The whole score makes for an incredible road trip sound track as well.

Ok. The new trilogy was pretty shitty but if you say anything bad about Episode IV, I just might have to hurt you.

Oh how I disliked that movie. Wasn’t crazy about the soundtrack either.

Duel of Fates is a nightmare on the saxophone.

I love the track “The Son of Flynn”, sadly one of the shortest on the album :(
good soundtrack, but I also loved the movie :D

me too! but I get why people dont like it.
![]() 03/10/2016 at 13:47 |

Again, it
looks
good. But I don’t know. I failed to really care about the characters and the story. It’s not a bad movie, I still watch it from time to time. It’s just a bit disappointing. But it’s like my opinion man.

Its definitely a bit pretentious, but it was interesting enough that I didn’t mind

That scene gives me chills.

It’s not supposed to be a serious film. Trying to compare it to Rashomon, or whatever avant-garde emotional battering ram of a film critics usually choose is always going to fail. It is however lots of fun to watch and the soundtrack is just about as perfect as it gets. Have you watched the original Tron?

No, but I’m tempted. Should I? You have me intrigued.

if you were a kid in the ‘80s, the first Transformers movie was bacon-wrapped awesomeballs.

Yes! It’s an aged film, and again it’s not trying to be anything serious. But, I enjoy it for what it is, and for the time it was pretty groundbreaking style and effects wise.
Knowing the back-story will help make more of a connection to the characters in Legacy.
![]() 03/10/2016 at 14:12 |

I’ll try it then!
I think my main gripe with Legacy is that while it isn’t a serious movie, it looks like it wants to pretend to be one. But yeah, maybe watching the original one my views on it will change.

I always thought Armageddon had a score far superior to the movie itself.
Also, I first found Our Lady Peace on the soundtrack to that, I still like ‘em to this day.

Weee ... solid pick.
I’m in love with the music years after the movie.

I struggle to think of any film with a soundtrack so pefectly match. That’s not to say there aren’t other great scores, only that I think Tron: Legacy has the abosolute perfect soundtrack for it as a film. One simply cannot find a better match of film and sounds.

Watching
Legacy
for the first time (post-cinema, that is) at home, I actually told my brother to shut up in a scene with no dialogue because I wanted to soak up the sounds. I think it was during Solar Sailor ... if I listen to the score while driving, I need to put in an extra effort to stay focused ... but I still enjoy it, it gives me ‘bumps where other music fails.

I would definitely say the first mummy movie. It’s not a terrible movie, just really stupid (Enjoyably so, but stupid nonetheless). However, Jerry Goldsmith’s score is one of the most underrated scores in film history.

The 70's King Kong has a lovely John Barry score. That movie’s a sentimental favorite of mine, but it’s really pretty bad. Good cast, though.
